CI delivers hybrid conference

This week we’re excited to be a part of the WENZ 2020 (Wellbeing in Education New Zealand) Conference - that focuses on building and facilitating wellbeing and resilience among students, staff and whanau.

With two conferences originally planned with 700 attendees in Auckland and Christchurch, the return of Level-2 restrictions required quick thinking from CI to come up with an innovative solution. We transitioned the Auckland conference to virtual, and ensured the Christchurch conference adhered to Level-2 regulations with delegates split into groups of 100 (400 attendees in total) at the Christchurch Town Hall.

Four colour coded zones provided clear identification for delegates, speakers and guests which enabled individual catering, networking and learning hubs - each with separate project management teams and stringent contact tracing technology.

CI is proud to have delivered a hugely successful hybrid conference as we continue to help people connect across the globe.

While we initially had concerns about running a conference at Level 2, having four rooms of 100 people attending the same conference - but being physically distanced - proved hugely successful. In fact, many of our delegates said they preferred the format, finding the smaller groups led to more connections and in-depth conversations. The multi-media delivery worked really well too - the combo of live speakers and live-streamed Keynotes kept us all engaged. Thanks Conference Innovators for demonstrating your own resilience and flexibility to make this our best conference ever.” - Dr Lucy Hone, WENZ convenor
