Case Study

Social Enterprise World Forum

The Ākina Foundation
27-29 September 2017
Christchurch

Conference Innovators managed the logistical arrangements for this exciting international forum which brought together more than 1,600 social entrepreneurs, policy makers, community leaders, investors and academics from over 40 countries to share knowledge, connect with others and plan for the future of social enterprise.

The innovative and collaborative nature of the event posed a number of exciting challenges - including varied stream formats across nine separate venues, liaison with 170 invited speakers, multiple international and national stakeholders, a high level of community involvement, engagement with local social enterprises and sponsors, and the incorporation of new technologies and sustainable practices.

Technology played a key role - more than 1,500 delegates downloaded and actively used the dedicated conference app (developed and managed by CI) throughout the Forum. The interaction, discussion and forming of connections on the live activity feed was amazing to see - the future of social enterprise is definitely bright!

“The team has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Professional always. Reactive and pro-active. Open to change and willing to listen. But also providing very clear and informed advice and recommendations. We felt supported and we knew Conference Innovators had our back at the event, which enabled us to do our jobs well - including welcoming and hosting our delegates and VIP's.”
