Case Study

International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Working Week

International Federation of Surveyors (FIG)
2-6 May 2016
Christchurch, New Zealand

More than 800 surveyors from around the world descended on Christchurch for this international conference. Focussed on ‘Recovery from Disaster’, they couldn’t have picked a better destination – a resilient and rejuvenated Christchurch provided plenty of opportunity for learning and reflection.

With a five day programme including tours and excursions, a client based in Copenhagen, a New Zealand Local Organising Committee, numerous sub‐committees, satellite event organisers and international exhibitors, the conference organisation posed quite the challenge!

Conference Innovators led the way, liaising and collaborating with the client team and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of this complex event were executed smoothly.

Delivering an estimated $2.1 million economic impact for the city, the congress was a win for all involved!

“I am writing to express my sincere and heartfelt appreciation of your organisation and commitment of the FIG Working Week 2016. The conference was very well organised and I wish to congratulate your team - the event was a huge success. It is not often we have the opportunity to host almost 600 international delegates representing over 70 countries, as well as over 200 local delegates, at an event of this scale.CI played a pivotal part in making FIG 2016 a success”
